QUEEN VICTORIA - YOUNG HEAD VARIETY   The '2nd variety' of the young-head Queen Victoria was introduced in 1871, some 33 years after she ascended to the throne. Other than some wording on the obverse of the coin, the most obvious change came about on the reverse with the addition of St. George and the Dragon These are also, not usually available in quantity due to their age. Condition on these is generally extra fine (XF).

QUEEN VICTORIA - YOUNG HEAD - SHIELD BACK VARIETY   The first offering in the long running Queen Victoria series (1838-1901) utilized a 'shield back" reverse (depicted to the left). The obverse (front) design would be used as late as 1885. These are not generally available in quantities due to their age and in fact are considered somewhat rare. Each sovereign offered on this page contains .2354 oz. Net pure gold. Condition sensitive.

QUEEN VICTORIA - GOLDEN JUBILEE   The 'Golden Jubilee' variety was issued from 1887 until 1893 - in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's ascent to the throne. Containing the standard .2354 oz., net pure gold, sovereigns are oftentimes referred to as the 'pound.' Condition on these is generally also extra fine (XF).

QUEEN VICTORIA - VEILED HEAD   The fourth coin issued in the 'Victoria" series (the 'Matron Head' is not offered here as it is a true rarity.) is the 'Veiled Head' variety issued from 1893 to 1901. Since they were heavily used in commerce, few quality examples have survived until today. (XF)

KING EDWARD VIII   Due to the short period of mintage (1902 to 1910) very few better quality coins remain available in this series, however in order to expand your "collection," it is always advisable to diversify your holdings with some of these. As with each of these sovereigns, the weight is .2354 oz., net pure gold. Condition generally ranges XF-AU.

KING GEORGE V   One of the most popular and widely distributed British coins available. By 1916, the British Empire covered nearly 2/3 of the global 'village,' and these golden gems (usually found in brilliant uncirculated condition) are still issued to the British forces, as they are still recognized the world over. These are still one of the best buys in the international gold market. "The sun never sets on the British Empire!"

NOTE: Sovereigns, in many different denominations are also available, which were minted in other countries under the 'protection' of Great Britain. Please don't hesitate to inquire, as we have access to the common and the rare.
